Your eyes, nervous system and inner ears all contribute to your sense of balance. However, if any one of these complex systems isn’t sending the proper signals to your brain – or your brain sending the right signals back – you may experience dizziness or become unstable. The good news is that many balance deficits can be improved with balance rehabilitation.
At John Heinz and Allied Rehab's Balance Program, specially trained therapists help patients improve balance, decrease dizziness, minimize falls, reduce their need for medication and improve activity levels. Using the latest advancements in technology and training, our rehabilitation team will develop a program specifically tailored to your needs.

Frequency of Treatment
Patients in the Balance Program receive physical therapy in one hour sessions, usually one to three times per week for several weeks, depending upon the severity of their condition.
Referral to the Balance Program
A physician’s prescription is required for treatment. Many patients are referred by their primary care doctor; ear, nose and throat physician (ENT); or neurologist. In some cases, seeing an audiologist may also be beneficial in diagnosing a patient’s condition.
