Allied Services - In-Home Care

For over 25 years, Allied In-Home Services has been providing home and community based services to assist persons with disabilities and older adults with activities of daily living. Allied In-Home Services is a licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as a home care agency.

Our mission is to promote independent living for individuals in our community. The Independent Living (IL) philosophy is a worldwide movement of people with disabilities and older adults working for self-determination, self-respect and equal opportunities.

We are here to help you overcome challenges and reach your highest level of independence by providing quality, person-centered services in your home.

Services Offered

Homemaker Services
Tasks such as shopping, laundry, light housekeeping, and meal preparation.

Fiscal Management
Allied In-Home Services also provides fiscal management service (FMS) for the consumer-employer model of Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) under our Allied Fiscal-Employer Agent entity.

Personal Care
Assistance with self-administered medications, feeding, bathing, grooming, assistance with ambulation, toileting, transfer activities.

Attendant Care
Eligible adults under the age of 60, who are mentally alert and physically disabled, live as independently as possible in their own homes and seek or maintain employment.

Respite Care
Personal Care and assistance with IADLs provided on a short term basis because of the absence or need for relief for those persons normally providing the services.

Service Coordination
Intake services, needs assessment, advocacy to ensure coordination of medical, educational, and other services and maximum consumer independence.

Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
Tasks that we perform in the normal routine of the day, such as feeding, bathing, dressing, and grooming ourselves. The ability to perform these tasks can be used as a measure of ability/ disability in many disorders.

Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL)
The activities often performed by a person who is living independently in a community setting during the course of a normal day, such as managing money, shopping, telephone use, travel in community, housekeeping, preparing meals, and taking medications correctly.

Independent Living Philosophy
System of beliefs, concepts and attitudes that emphasize self direction, control, peer support and community integration for individuals with disabilities.

Funding Programs

Many of our services are provided through Home and Community Based Service (HCBS) waiver funding from state and federal government sources. Allied In-Home Services professional staff will assist individuals in determining their eligibility for these programs. Allied In-Home Services works closely with the following funding sources:

  • Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, Office of Long Term Living (HCBS waivers and Act 150 Program), which helps eligible adults 18 to 59 years of age, who are mentally alert and physically disabled, live as independently as possible, remain in their homes, and seek or maintain employment.
  • Human Services Development Funds (Lackawanna, Columbia counties), which provides homemaker services to consumers 18 to 59 year of age.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Aging (Area Agencies on Aging in 23 counties of Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania), which provides personal care and support services to consumers over the age of 60.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Health, as a licensed home care agency.
