We?re serious about play!

Every child, regardless of their disability, should be given the chance to experience the thrill of play. At Allied Rehab and Heinz Rehab our technicians and therapists take this issue very seriously. We know that play helps children develop both intellectually and physically. However, we understand that not all children are capable of playing with the toys that are manufactured today.

Through the Toy Adaptation Program, we work with children to modify toys so they can easily use and enjoy them. We offer free adaptations year round and increased services during the holiday months. Allied Services? therapists are able to adapt almost any toy from puzzles to electronics. We do our best to accommodate you and your child by making mail-in toys available for adaptations as well. Our goal is to encourage play and make it accessible to every child no matter their disability.

Programs and Services

Some adaptations include:

• Small knobs on puzzle pieces to make them easier to pick up
• Larger handles on toy pots and pans
• Extensions on piano keys to make them easier to strike
• Pressure switches and pads to make electronic equipment such as radios, televisions and electronic games easier to use
