On October 17, CrossFit athletes and weekend warriors will gather at a new fitness facility in Olyphant to break a sweat and raise funds for children and adults with disabilities in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania. The fitness fundraiser, “Matty’s Pre-Marathon Mayhem,” is being spearheaded by Event Sponsors O’Donnell Law, who kick-started the fundraising with a $5,000 donation to Allied Services Integrated Health System. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Ryan’s Run campaign aimed at raising funds for children and adults with disabilities served by Allied Services.
“Allied Services has been critical to the rehabilitation of so many of our clients and some many others in the Community. We are so happy to be able to help Ryan raise the funds necessary to reach as many people as possible” commented Neil T. O’Donnell, Esq.
Hosted by CrossFit 570 at their new facility in Olyphant, the event will feature a workout that can be adjusted to each athlete’s abilities, offering a perfect opportunity for people interested in learning more about CrossFit. Experienced athletes, beginners and children are welcome to participate for a $10 donation payable on the day. Workouts will take place at intervals from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
CrossFit 570’s experienced coaches and instructors will be joined for the workout by one of their regular athletes, Matthew Madden. Madden, a Senior Design Engineer employed at Gentex Corporation in Simpson, Pa, is one of thirty-five area athletes running the 2015 TCS New York City Marathon with WNEP TV’s Ryan Leckey.
