

In the 1950’s, Scranton, Pennsylvania community leaders and service organizations created an alliance dedicated to improving and expanding services to people with disabilities. From the beginning, Allied Services began to provide vocational training opportunities to individuals in the community. The Allied healthcare system, founded in the early 1960’s, now is one of the country’s most diverse not-for-profit providers of rehabilitative, vocational, home care and residential services.
The William Warren Scranton Residence opened on 1970 and is home to 42 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our community-based ICF’s opened in the

Facilities for individuals with developmental
disabilities provide continuous qualified
supervision and medical care, ongoing
psychological and social services and active
treatment.
All residential programs embrace the
principles of Positive Approaches.
Its purpose is to support people to grow
and develop, to make their own decisions, to
achieve their personal
goals, to develop relationships and to enjoy
life as fully participating members of the
community.
