WNEP’s Ryan’s Run and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield recently announced that they’re teaming up to launch the Kick-Start Running Club, a 5-week running program aimed at helping school-age children prepare for their first 5k race. Host schools will have the opportunity to work with guest coaches and members of the WNEP’s Ryan’s Run 7 team as they motivate and inspire their students throughout their training. Begun at the start of the new school year, the program culminates with a 5k and All-Abilities Walk at Scranton High School, October 8, benefiting WNEP’s Ryan’s Run 7. Any school can sign up to become a host – its completely free – and receive a 5-week training program, coaching tips from an official WNEP’s Ryan’s Run runner, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield mini sunscreens (while supplies last) and an invitation to WNEP’s Ryan’s Run 5k and All-Abilities Walk.
