Endowments provide lasting support for Allied Services and serve as meaningful ways for individuals, corporations or foundations to leave a lasting legacy. They provide a firm financial foundation that impacts children and families long after the initial gift is made. Endowment dollars are vital because they generate income, a portion of which is available year after year to sustain the highest quality of patient care.
Endowment Parameters
Following is a list of general parameters for establishing an endowment:
- Endowments have been established with gifts from $50,000 to multi-million dollar gifts. Endowments can be established with an initial gift of $10,000, however, income from the fund will not be distributed until the fund reaches $50,000.
- An endowment fund lasts into perpetuity.
- The Investment Committee of the Board of Directors of Allied Services Foundation determines endowment income distribution.
- Endowments are named funds and can hold the donor's name or that of someone special the donor would like to honor or remember.
- Working with Allied staff, the donor selects the area of priority that will be the beneficiary of the endowment income. The Board of Directors of Allied Services Foundation as well as the Executive leadership establishes these priorities.
- When an endowment is established, an agreement is drawn up and signed by the donor and a representative of Allied Services Foundation to provide clear and lasting documentation of the donor's wishes.
- Any individual, group, corporation, trust or foundation may make additional gifts to established endowment funds at any time and in any amount.
For example, the Jack and Joan Newman Endowment Fund was established to recognize the Newmans' lasting dedication to Allied and their outstanding community leadership.
