Lymphedema is an abnormal swelling caused by fluid build-up. It can cause pain, a feeling of pressure or heaviness, and skin problems in the affected area. It often occurs in the arm or leg, but may affect any part of the body.
Please call to register if you’ve had these symptoms or if you’ve had:
- surgical lymph node removal
- radiation therapy
- venous insufficiency
- recurrent cellulitis (skin infection)
- weight gain, limited mobility or other challenges that limit your activity
You’ll learn the signs and symptoms of lymphedema, precautions and prevention, and how to seek treatment. You’ll hear success stories from patients and certified lymphedema therapists, and learn from certified fitters and suppliers whose products and services can complement treatment.
Screenings are free but appointments are limited. Register by calling 570.341.4595 by March 5.
