UPDATE (10/10/2017): Our conference at Heinz, on Hospice and Palliative Care 10/19/17, PA Social Workers were officially approved for 6 CEU’s! Now Nurses and Social Workers are approved!

Allied Services Integrated Health System announced the topic of its annual community conference. Titled “When the time comes: exploring hospice and palliative care” the one-day conference will examine care options for people with life-limiting conditions or who have ongoing chronic care needs. This year’s conference is scheduled for Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Allied Services Heinz Rehab Hospital, 150 Mundy Street in Wilkes-Barre Township.

This activity has been submitted to Pennsylvania  State Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. Pennsylvania State Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.  Chaplains may submit certificate (or info) to accrediting body for CEs.  Also helpful information for counselors and other mental health professionals.

Application has been made for 6.0 Continuing education credits from the Commonwealth of PA State Board of Social Workers.  This activity has also been submitted to the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association to award contact hours.  The Pennsylvania State Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Chaplains will receive a certificate of attendance to present to their respective certifying bodies. Please contact Chaplain Marianne C. Sailus at (570) 830-2039 for any further information on these credits. To receive your certificate of attendance, you must register, sign in, attend the entire conference, and hand in the evaluation sheet.  There are no Conflicts of Interest with any of the Speakers, Panelists, or members of the Conference Committee.
