Allied Services Hosts Alzheimer's Association's Memories in the Making® Facilitator Training

The Greater PA Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association recently gave a presentation hosted by Allied Services Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to train facilitators for the Memories in the Making® Program. A unique program of creative expression for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, Memories in the Making® bypasses the dominant verbal aspects of brain function, taps directly into the resident’s inner world, and gives voice to this inner world by creating art through the use of facilitators. Art created by Memories in the Making® participants will be displayed in local galleries, used to create calendars and note cards, even sold at auction to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research and to fund the delivery of Chapter programs and services.
