Allied Services’ Shanna Cook will join a panel of experts on WVIA’s “Call the Doctor” on Wednesday, December 10th at 7:00 p.m. The program is the second in a two-part series focusing on the mental health, in particular, the subject of the treatment, support and resources available to individuals and families dealing with mental health issues.
As Program Manager of Allied Services’ Schuylkill County Behavioral Health Program, Shanna oversees both the Community Residential Program and the Supported Living Program. Among other responsibilities, Shanna provides support, skills training and advocacy to empower persons with mental illness and ensure they are able to maximize community living opportunities.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Shanna joined Allied Services in 2008. She earned her Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) certification from the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association in 2010 and became a certified staff trainer in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention in 2011.
Shanna will join a panel of experts including Dr. Steven J. Scheinman of Commonwealth Medical College, Janet Judge, LCSW, Program Director at Northeast Counseling Services, Mike Zimmerman, Executive Director of Family Service Association of Wyoming Valley and Janine A. Fortney, Outpatient Clinical Program Manager at Friendship House.
