About Us
Accreditation

Selecting a quality health care services for yourself or a relative requires special thought and attention. Knowing what to look for and what to ask when you choose a health care provider will help you make the right choice.

Hospital Accreditations

Allied operates two nationally-respected rehabilitation hospitals- the Allied Rehab Hospital and John Heinz Rehab. Both hospitals meet the highest and most rigorous national and international standards for quality performance and are the only licensed acute rehabilitation hospitals in the Scranton and Wilkes-Barre areas.

JJCAHOoint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations(JCAHO)

The Joint Commission evaluates the quality and safety of care for thousands of healthcare organizations. Our hospitals have been awarded full accreditation based on how well we meet Joint Commission standards. To earn accreditation, our hospitals have extensive on-site reviews by Joint Commission professionals.

Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)

To become accredited, a program has been extensively reviewed and meets the rigorous CARF guidelines for service and quality. Continual measurement and service improvement are the hallmarks of a CARF-accredited organization.

Allied Rehab Hospital is the only CARF-accredited program in northeastern Pennsylvania for spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Patients in a CARF-accredited spinal cord system of care program learn about conditions associated with spinal cord injury and how to solve problems to become as independent as possible.

John Heinz Rehab is the only CARF-accredited program in northeastern Pennsylvania for treatment of brain injury rehabilitation. CARF accreditation can be considered a healthcare “seal of quality”. Our accredited inpatient program staffed by a team of specially trained doctors, nurses and therapists map out personalized rehabilitation plans to help achieve each patient’s goals.

Credentialed ImPACT Concussion Manager

John Heinz Rehabilitation Hospital is the region’s only credentialed ImPACT concussion management provider. ImPACT team members are dedicated to the scientific study of sports-related concussion and the clinical application of knowledge. ImPACT provides sophisticated, research-based software tools to help clinicians evaluate recovery following a concussion.
